Our #SeeTheLives video project was recently replicated by Dr. Tessa Parkes from the University of Stirling, along with co-researchers and community advocacy partners in Scotland. Fifteen video letters were produced with affected family members and friends, who talk to loved ones about their love, loss, and the future. You can view the video letters here: https://www.seebeyondscotland.com/
The project also developed a See Beyond Pledge, which was presented in the Scottish Parliament in the fall of 2023:
“I pledge to be respectful and compassionate towards those affected by substance use, including the families and friends of those who have died from alcohol or drugs.
I will show respect by using kind and non-judgmental language about those affected by alcohol or drugs.
I will show compassion by reaching out to someone who has lost a loved one to alcohol or drugs and asking them how they are doing today.”
